How professionals are selected

Charlotte Home Pros is published by Nicholas Peters. Listings are added at the publisher's discretion; we do not accept payment for inclusion. We do not operate a documented vetting program, so we do not describe listings as vetted or verified. What a listing does and does not mean:

• Source — Listings come from professionals known to the Peters businesses or identified through local research.
• Affiliation — Businesses associated with the Peters family are labeled publisher-affiliated; all others are unaffiliated.
• Credentials — We do not verify licensing or insurance for you. Check NC licensing at nclbgc.org and request certificates directly.
• No invented signals — We do not publish star ratings, review counts, awards or project histories we cannot document.
• No ranking — Listings are not the result of a neutral comparison, and no Peters business is presented as having won one.
• Corrections — If a listing is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct or remove it.

Publisher-Affiliated vs. Unaffiliated Listings

Publisher-affiliated businesses — Peters Custom Homes, Emerald & Oak Design, Peters Audio Video, Peters Signature Homes, Peters & Associates (including The Peters Team) and Peters Signature Travel — are associated with the Peters family, which publishes this site. They receive preferential placement, including the business menu on every page and a homepage feature.

Unaffiliated listings are other businesses the publisher has added for reference. They do not pay for inclusion, and there is no application process.

Content standards

All editorial content — guides, cost information, project advice, and professional descriptions — is written from the perspective of an active Charlotte home builder. Content standards include:

• All cost ranges reflect actual Charlotte-area project costs observed firsthand, not national averages.
• Advice and recommendations are based on real experience building and renovating homes in the Charlotte metro.
