How professionals are selected

Every professional listed on Charlotte Home Pros has been evaluated through direct collaboration on residential construction projects in the Charlotte, NC metro area. We do not accept submissions, applications, or payment for inclusion. Our selection criteria include:

• Direct project experience — We've worked alongside them on real Charlotte projects and seen their work firsthand.
• Consistency — One good project isn't enough. We evaluate performance across multiple projects over time.
• Licensing and insurance — We verify NC licensing (where applicable) and require proof of general liability and workers' compensation insurance.
• Communication and professionalism — How they communicate, handle callbacks, and manage client expectations matters as much as the quality of their work.
• Local reputation — We talk to other builders, designers, and homeowners in the Charlotte trade community. A professional's reputation among peers is a critical signal.
• Reliability — Showing up on time, meeting deadlines, and honoring commitments consistently across projects.

Featured Partners vs. Listed Professionals

Featured Partners are professionals with whom the site's creator has a business relationship. These relationships are disclosed transparently. Featured partners receive more prominent placement on the site, but their inclusion still reflects genuine confidence in their work quality based on direct experience.

Listed Professionals are included based solely on merit and direct project experience. They do not pay for inclusion, and there is no application or request process. The site owner adds professionals at their discretion as they work with new trades and vendors.

Content standards

All editorial content — guides, cost information, project advice, and professional descriptions — is written from the perspective of an active Charlotte home builder. Content standards include:
